A wonderful Rolex Explorer II Ref:1655 Freccione from 1971.

” The Rolex Explorer II was introduced in 1971 and stayed in production until 1984. Made for speleologists (cave divers) with the now iconic orange 24 -hour hand to be used during exploration of dark caves as a way to distinguish day from night. “

This Ref:1655 features a Mark 1 dial and straight seconds hand, all features found on the early examples from 1971/72. It has a faded 24-hour hand (Freccione, meaning big arrow in Italian) and the dial with wonderful lume. It is on its original Rolex folded link bracelet date coded for 71. Inside the watch it features Rolex’s calibre 1575 26-jewel bi-directional self winding movement.

The watch comes with a Rolex box (associated) and is working well and ready to be enjoyed.
