This 1680 Submariner has the single line of red ‘Submariner’ script, hence the nickname “Red Sub” and this example falls into the Mark IV dial category, This dial variant features open 6’s on the depth rating and the horizontal strokes of “ft” are not aligned on the same level. The inside case back is stamped for 1972.
Presented in an attractive condition with a fantastic dial with light ivory coloured lume plots with matching hands and in a nicely preserved case with bevelled edges. This present Ref.1680 comes with a later Rolex box and Rolex UK service centre card from 2008.
