About the print
This edition of 30 hand made prints was made at the London based edition printing studio Atelier Ji under the watchful eye of master printer Peter Bennett. Atelier Ji prints for the galleries and artists including Cristea Roberts Gallery, Heni Editions, Serpentine Gallery, and artists Damien Hirst, Frank Bowling, Ian Davenport amongst many more.
How is the print made?
The photopolymer process is a complicated one similar to traditional gravure printing where an image is etched onto a copper plate and then printed using great pressure. This photopolymer technique however tends to be used most in the production of prints using photographs as source. With photopolymer etching, instead of the acid-resistent covering, you use a photo-sensitive one. You transfer the image you want to print onto transparent film, which is placed on top of the coated plate. The plate is then exposed to UV light, which allows the exposed photopolymer to be washed away. The plate is then inked (the inking, printing, cleaning and re-inking is repeated for every print) and rolled through a traditional press.
Only one edition of 30 will be made from this
plate.
Prints are priced at £250 + postage
